UNSTOPPABLE doesn’t even begin to describe what our FCCLA students accomplished at the State Leadership Conference!
Our Pirates showed up, competed, and made a statement:
Dax Dale and Ethan Tran tied for 2nd place in Lifetime Nutrition and Wellness, proving their knowledge and dedication at the highest level.
Kayden Marceaux captured 1st place in Entrepreneurship, showcasing innovation, creativity, and real-world readiness.
All three have officially qualified for the National Leadership Conference and earned $1,500 scholarships, an incredible achievement that reflects their hard work and commitment.
And it doesn’t stop there…
Sydney McDaniel was elected Vice President of Public Relations and Membership, while Jorgia Stephens was elected Vice President of Community Service. That means Kaplan High leadership is now helping lead at the state level.
We are proud of every student who attended and represented Kaplan High with leadership, confidence, and class. This is what it looks like when preparation meets opportunity.
The future is bright, and our Pirates are proving they are truly UNSTOPPABLE. 🏴☠️

Kaplan High School is proud to celebrate an incredible accomplishment by one of our own!
Congratulations to Grayson Broussard for earning State Runner-Up in 3D Archery at the state tournament held this past week in Alexandria, Louisiana. Competing at this level takes focus, discipline, and hours of dedication, and Grayson delivered in a big way.
This achievement represents more than just a finish, it reflects the work put in behind the scenes, the commitment to improvement, and the ability to perform when it matters most.
We are proud to have you representing Kaplan High at the highest level. The future is bright, and you continue to show what it means to be UNSTOPPABLE. 🏴☠️

April is Autism Awareness Month, and at Kaplan High School, we take this time to recognize, support, and celebrate the incredible individuals who make our school community stronger every single day.
Autism is not something to “fix” or “overcome”, it is a different way of experiencing and interacting with the world. And within our halls, we are proud of the students who bring unique perspectives, talents, and strengths that challenge us to grow, to be more patient, more understanding, and more inclusive.
This month is a reminder for all of us to lead with empathy, to listen more, and to create a school environment where every student feels seen, valued, and supported. Our goal is not just awareness, but acceptance and action.
To our students, families, and staff members who walk this journey daily, thank you for trusting us, teaching us, and making Kaplan High School a better place because of who you are.
We are proud to stand with you, not just this month, but every day.🏴☠️

Kaplan High is proud to recognize Cole Hargrave and Noah Vincent for earning their spot in the LYBN High School State Championship Fishing Tournament!
This past weekend, the duo finished 16th at the D’Arbonne Duo Day 2 tournament, bringing in a strong 5-fish limit weighing 7.66 pounds while competing against a talented field.
What makes this even more special is the journey. These two seniors have spent the past seven years fishing side by side, showing what commitment, consistency, and true teamwork look like.
They will compete for a state title on May 2 and 3 at Doiron’s Landing. Pirate Nation is behind you both as you take on the next challenge! 🏴☠️

Kaplan High School is ready to celebrate a week that is all about purpose, pride, and the future of leadership on our campus.
Join us for our “Lead With Legacy” Student Council Week, happening April 13–17. Throughout the week, we will be celebrating in a variety of ways, including our themed dress days. Students are encouraged to participate, represent with pride, and most importantly, follow all guidelines carefully. If there are any questions, please reach out to the administration.
This week is more than just dress-up days; it represents something bigger. We are in the process of revamping what Student Council looks like at Kaplan High School, and we are building it with intention. Our goal is to develop leaders who set the standard, take ownership, and leave a lasting impact on this school.
What’s ahead is strong, it’s focused, and it’s built on what it truly means to lead.
We can’t wait to show our students, staff, and community what leadership will look like moving forward.
The future of Kaplan High leadership is being built right now, and it’s going to be UNSTOPPABLE 🏴☠️

The Pirate Relays belonged to Kaplan High School on Wednesday, and our Track & Field team proved once again what it means to be UNSTOPPABLE.
Our boys set the tone early. Kodi Clement sprinted his way to a dominant double victory, taking 1st place in both the 200 and 400. In the field events, Kevin Small shattered his own school record in discus with an incredible throw of 173’0, securing 1st place, and followed it up with a strong 3rd place finish in shot put.
On the girls side, it was a night full of speed, strength, and history-making performances. Lexi Greene claimed 1st in the 400, with Emily Roy right behind her in 2nd. Liberty Greene added to the success with a 3rd place finish in the 800.
Our relay teams were nothing short of electric. The 4x200 team of Emily Roy, Selena Alexandria, Liberty Greene, and Lexi Greene raced to a 2nd place finish while setting a new school record with a time of 1:46.57. The 4x400 team of Izzy Hargrave, Emily Roy, Liberty Greene, and Lexi Greene took 1st place and broke another school record with a time of 4:11.08. Not to be outdone, the 4x800 team of Isabel Mendez, Izzy Hargrave, Riley Hebert, and Liberty Greene brought home 1st place as well.
In the field events, Reace Richard earned 3rd in the high jump, and Ainslyn Harrington soared to a 2nd place finish in pole vault.
Records were broken. Champions were crowned. And Pirate Pride was on full display.
This is what it looks like when hard work meets opportunity.
This is Kaplan High School Track & Field.
This is UNSTOPPABLE. 🏴☠️

Today, we pause to celebrate the joy, hope, and renewal that Easter brings to our Kaplan High School family.

Today is National Librarian’s Day, and we don't want to miss the chance to SPOTLIGHT a special gem who has been in education for over 30 years.
Ms. Alyson Bourque, you are so much more than our librarian. You are strength, resilience, and quiet determination in motion. Through every challenge we face as a Pirate family, you continue to show up with integrity, an open heart, wisdom beyond your years, and a willingness to do whatever needs to be done. (for ANYONE). That says everything about who you are. You come from a family of true caretakers, and you carry that torch so respectfully. Our students are so lucky to have you in their corner.
We are incredibly grateful that you are part of our Pirate family. Our school is better because of you, and we are better because we get to stand beside you.
Just as you have always been a steady presence for others, please know we are here for you, too. When you are on that campus, the sky is simply opalite. Keep dancing with us for many years to come.⚡⚡

KHS CELEBRATES NATIONAL PARAPROFESSIONAL APPRECIATION DAY!
15 days ago, KHS Pirates
There’s just something special about a classroom filled with joy, and that’s exactly what you’ll find in Mrs. Jenny Esthay’s class!
Today, her students celebrated Easter by dyeing eggs, sharing smiles, and spreading pure happiness all around. Moments like these remind us that school is so much more than lessons and assignments, it’s about creating memories, building relationships, and learning life lessons that last far beyond the classroom.
Mrs. Esthay’s class is always overflowing with laughter, love, learning, and the kind of positivity that makes a lasting impact on every child who walks through her door. We are so grateful for the environment she creates each and every day.
Great job, kids! 🏴☠️

On March 31st, the KHS baseball field paused the game and the scoreboard to honor something far greater than wins and losses; we honored a journey.
Senior Night is never just about a final home game. It is about years of long practices, bus rides, dirt-stained uniforms, and the quiet moments in between that most people never see. It is about the friendships built in the dugout, the lessons learned through adversity, and the pride of wearing “Pirates” across your chest.
We celebrate three young senior men who have given so much to this program: Sabe David, Aiden Gaspard, and Luke Hebert. Each of them has left a mark on this field that will not fade with the final out. Their leadership, toughness, and commitment have helped shape not only this team but the standard that will be carried forward.
Behind every pitch, every swing, and every victory stands a powerful support system. Families who showed up to every game, coaches who poured their time and belief into these players, teammates who became brothers, and a community that never stopped cheering them on. That is what makes Kaplan special. That is what makes Pirate Nation strong.
These seniors may be stepping off this field, but they will never step away from what it means to be a Pirate.
Once a Pirate, Always a Pirate 🏴☠️
