• Abby LeBlanc was a member of the Consumer Decision Making Team, which captured 1st Place Overall Team.
• Lily Perrin earned 1st Place in STEM Method Demonstration.
• Marlee Trahan placed 2nd in Photography.
• Summit Saltzman earned 1st Place in Tractor Operations.

The road to becoming LEGENDARY is paved with leadership, service, perseverance, and excellence, and this week our Kaplan High Beta Club showcased all four on the national stage in Nashville, Tennessee.
Before the awards were ever announced, our Pirates were already making an impact. Living out the Beta motto, "Lead by Serving Others," our students stepped up to assist candidates from other schools with their campaign skits for National Beta Vice President and Secretary. They demonstrated that true leadership is not measured by what you gain, but by how you serve.
A special congratulations goes to our own Hunter Packard, Louisiana State Beta President, who courageously campaigned for National Beta President. Although he did not bring home the national title, he represented Kaplan High, Louisiana Beta, and the Pirate spirit with pride, determination, and class every step of the way. Hunter and his fellow Beta members delivered a thunderous campaign performance and left everything on the stage. That is what champions do.
Our Pirates also brought home an impressive list of national accomplishments:

Our Kaplan High School Student Council E-Board had an incredible time attending the 2026 LASC Summer Workshop! From leadership sessions and team-building activities to making new friends from across the state, this experience was filled with learning, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
We are proud of these student leaders for representing KHS with enthusiasm, professionalism, and Pirate pride. They returned with fresh ideas, new skills, and plenty of excitement for the upcoming school year.

Their courage changed the course of history and protected not only our nation, but the hope of freedom around the world.
Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It is a reminder that freedom is fragile, democracy requires vigilance, and the price paid for both has been immeasurable.
We honor those who served.
We remember those who never came home.
And we remain grateful for every sacrifice made in defense of this nation and the ideals that define it.

Today, Kaplan High School proudly begins a brand new chapter in Pirate football.
A chapter built on pride.
A chapter built on toughness.
A chapter built on tradition.
A chapter built to become… LEGENDARY.
Kaplan High School is proud to announce Coach Vinnie Bullara as the next Head Football Coach of the Pirates.
Coach Bullara brings nearly three decades of coaching experience to Pirate Nation, including leadership roles at St. Thomas More, Westminster Christian Academy, Catholic High of Pointe Coupee, and Sulphur High School. Throughout his career, he has served as both Head Coach and Athletic Director, building programs centered around discipline, accountability, hard work, and championship culture.
A 1997 graduate of UL-Lafayette, Coach Bullara has dedicated 29 years to developing student-athletes and leading young men both on and off the field. He and his wife, Cammie, have been married for 30 years and are the proud parents of Tucker, Brock, and Presley.
Coach Bullara shared the following message with the Kaplan community:
“I am extremely grateful to the Kaplan High School administration for selecting me to be your next head football coach. Kaplan has a proud football tradition, and I am humbled to be selected to steward this excellent tradition. It is my goal and my intent to build a culture that fosters enthusiasm, positivity, accountability, and elite work ethic from the coaching staff to the players. I look forward to building relationships and locking arms with the Kaplan community, and do my part in building boys into young men. Go Pirates!”
