To our Pirate Baseball family, 🏴‍☠️

Yesterday, our boys closed out their season in Kinder, and while the final result wasn't what we hoped for, what we witnessed this year was something far greater than any scoreboard could ever measure.

To our entire team, every single one of you, thank you. Thank you for the long practices, the sweat, the grind, and the heart you poured into this program. You made us proud every single time you took the field. That never wavered.

But to our seniors…our hearts are with you today. We see your tears, and we understand them, because they come from a place of deep love, love for this game, love for your teammates, and love for the jersey you wore. That kind of love is rare, and it is beautiful. Please know this: you are seen, you are lifted up, and you are appreciated more than words can ever express.

The lessons you've learned through this program, about perseverance, brotherhood, sacrifice, and playing with everything you've got, those don't stay on the diamond. They go with you. Into every classroom, every job, every relationship, every challenge life puts in front of you. That is The Pirate Way. And you have lived it.

To our incredible community, your support means the world to this program and to these young men. We see you in the stands, we feel you in the cheers, and we are so grateful for every single one of you. Thank you for showing up, season after season.

And now… we have to share something that stopped us in our tracks.

After everything those boys went through yesterday, after the heartbreak of their final game, they came home and made their way straight to the softball field to cheer on our Lady Pirates.

Let that sink in.

If that doesn't bring a tear to your eye, we don't know what will. That right there? That's character. That's selflessness. That's exactly who these young men are. That is UNSTOPPABLE INTEGRITY.

We love you, Pirates. Always.

Tonight, Vermilion Parish School Board took a moment to recognize something truly special, and we couldn’t be more proud.

Junior Hunter Packard was honored for being named BETA State President, and if you know Hunter, you know this moment was earned in every possible way.

Hunter is an absolute force. He walks into a room and changes it. His passion is real. His drive is relentless. His energy is unmatched. He doesn’t wait for opportunities, he creates them. He doesn’t follow the moment, he brings the thunder into it.

What makes this recognition even more powerful is this, Hunter represents more than just himself. He represents Kaplan High School, Vermilion Parish, and what it looks like when a student refuses to be average.

We are watching leadership in action. We are watching someone who is already making an impact far beyond our campus.

Hunter Packard is UNSTOPPABLE, and tonight was just another step in what is going to be an incredible journey.

Pirate Nation is proud.

Today, we proudly celebrate two of the most important people in our building, our Administrative Professionals, Mrs. Gayla Gaspard and Mrs. Shauna Richard.

Behind every smooth school day, every answered phone call, every solved problem, and every moment of calm in the middle of chaos, you will find them. They are the steady hands and sharp minds that keep our campus moving forward, often without recognition, but never without impact.

They bring humor when we need it most, kindness when it matters most, and a level of organization that turns even the busiest days into something manageable. Our students and staff walk in each morning ready to be UNSTOPPABLE because of the work done behind the scenes by these incredible professionals.
Thank you for being the heartbeat of our front office, for the love you show our school family, and for the excellence you bring every single day. We are better because of you, and we are grateful beyond words.
Happy Administrative Professionals Day! 🏴‍☠️

Chloe Chargois has been named a Stamps Scholar, one of the nation’s most prestigious merit-based scholarships. This fall, she will attend Louisiana State University (LSU) as part of the Stamps Scholars Program, which honors students for their leadership, academic excellence, and dedication to service.
This year, LSU received approximately 65,000 applications, making Chloe’s achievement even more remarkable. After submitting her application and essay, she was selected as one of the top 50 applicants invited to campus for a special weekend that included tours and multiple rounds of interviews. From there, she advanced to the top 15 finalists who were ultimately awarded the prestigious Stamps Scholarship.

As a Stamps Scholar at LSU, Chloe will receive a full cost-of-attendance scholarship, along with additional funding for enrichment opportunities like study abroad, research, and professional development. Established in 2006, the Stamps Scholarship partners with top universities across the country to provide exceptional academic and leadership experiences.

Chloe’s selection highlights her remarkable accomplishments both in and out of the classroom. During her time at Kaplan High School and Southside High School, she excelled academically while also being actively involved in student leadership, athletics, and community service. Her ability to manage challenging coursework while making a meaningful impact truly sets her apart as a leader.

With this honor, Chloe joins a distinguished group of scholars who will gain access to mentorship, global experiences, and leadership development throughout their college journey. Today at Kaplan High, our students are bringing the FINAL performance of The Lion King to life with power, emotion, and heart. Every note, every line, every movement on that stage represents hours of dedication, courage, and belief in something bigger than themselves.

These students didn’t just put on a show; they created something special. They poured their soul into every moment, and it shows.

That’s not just a win. That’s a statement.

Our Pirates didn’t just open the playoffs… they took control of them with a dominant 9–3 victory over St. Martinsville. This was a complete team performance, from clutch hits at the plate, to sharp defense behind the ball, to a dugout that brought energy every single inning.

Every player had a hand in this one.

And on the mound, Sabe David delivered a performance that will be remembered, striking out 14 batters in his final time taking that field. A special moment for a senior who stepped up in a big way, backed by a team that played right alongside him the entire night.

Now it’s on to Kinder.

One more game stands between us and the next round, and then it’s a best two out of three series next week. The competition gets tougher, but this group is showing exactly who they are.

You can feel it building across this entire team.

Pirate Nation, get ready.

We’re not done. We’re UNSTOPPABLE. 🏴‍☠️

UNSTOPPABLE doesn’t even begin to describe what our FCCLA students accomplished at the State Leadership Conference! Our Pirates showed up, competed, and made a statement: Dax Dale and Ethan Tran tied for 2nd place in Lifetime Nutrition and Wellness, proving their knowledge and dedication at the highest level. Kayden Marceaux captured 1st place in Entrepreneurship, showcasing innovation, creativity, and real-world readiness. All three have officially qualified for the National Leadership Conference and earned $1,500 scholarships, an incredible achievement that reflects their hard work and commitment. And it doesn’t stop there… Sydney McDaniel was elected Vice President of Public Relations and Membership, while Jorgia Stephens was elected Vice President of Community Service. That means Kaplan High leadership is now helping lead at the state level. We are proud of every student who attended and represented Kaplan High with leadership, confidence, and class. This is what it looks like when preparation meets opportunity. The future is bright, and our Pirates are proving they are truly UNSTOPPABLE. 🏴‍☠️

April is Autism Awareness Month, and at Kaplan High School, we take this time to recognize, support, and celebrate the incredible individuals who make our school community stronger every single day.

Autism is not something to “fix” or “overcome”, it is a different way of experiencing and interacting with the world. And within our halls, we are proud of the students who bring unique perspectives, talents, and strengths that challenge us to grow, to be more patient, more understanding, and more inclusive.

This month is a reminder for all of us to lead with empathy, to listen more, and to create a school environment where every student feels seen, valued, and supported. Our goal is not just awareness, but acceptance and action.

To our students, families, and staff members who walk this journey daily, thank you for trusting us, teaching us, and making Kaplan High School a better place because of who you are.

We are proud to stand with you, not just this month, but every day.🏴‍☠️
