Just when we thought our holiday spirit was safe… the Grinch made a surprise visit to Kaplan High School! 👀🎅
Students and staff were caught off guard as he popped in to spread a little mischief, a lot of laughs, and plenty of Pirate Christmas cheer.
Don’t worry — even the Grinch couldn’t steal the joy from our Mighty KHS Pirates! 🏴☠️✨
Moments like these make the season extra special and keep our campus full of smiles.
Who’s next to visit KHS… Santa? 🎁🎄

Kaplan High School’s Key Club continues to live out the spirit of service. Under the leadership of Mrs. Jessica, our students delivered over 800 pounds of canned food to support the Kaplan Food Bank as part of the 2025 Food Net Food Drive. This effort helps support families right here in our own community and shows what it means to be truly unstoppable in giving back. We are proud of our students for stepping up and making a real difference in the lives of others. 🏴☠️

Kaplan High School students visited Central Office today for a behind-the-scenes look at the operations that keep Vermilion Parish School Board running smoothly. They learned how essential departments like technology, finance, transportation, child welfare, and leadership teams come together to support every school and every student in our district.
We are grateful to our VPSB leaders for opening their doors and investing time in our future leaders. This experience gave our Pirates a deeper understanding of how decisions are made and how much planning goes into supporting public education each day 🏴☠️

Our incredible teachers were treated to a warm holiday surprise today with a fully loaded baked potato bar and delicious homemade bread pudding. We simply wanted to show our appreciation for the countless hours they pour into our students and the heart they bring to Kaplan High every single day. This season is the perfect reminder of how grateful we are for all they do to keep our school shining bright. Thank you for being the magic behind our success. ☠️

Our Pirates are UNSTOPPABLE!
Today, KHS students traveled to Unitech Training Academy with our ASA Mrs. Jaime Hebert to explore post-graduation pathways and hands-on career programs that can jumpstart their future! From healthcare and technical fields to early childhood and more, students learned about certifications, training timelines, and the skills needed to be successful in high-demand careers.
After touring the campus, students enjoyed lunch at the Catalon Legacy Food Truck Park in Maurice, great food, fun atmosphere, and a chance to hang out and celebrate new possibilities! 🍔🎉
Experiences like this empower our Pirates to dream big, plan boldly, and pursue goals with confidence.
It. Was. GREAT!
College, career, or skilled trade, our students are preparing to CRUSH IT.

As we step into this season of gratitude, we want to wish our students, faculty, and community a warm and meaningful Thanksgiving. Kaplan High remains deeply grateful for the constant love and support we receive from our Pirate family.
There is so much to be thankful for, but at the top of that list are our incredible students. Their energy, resilience, and spirit bring purpose to every decision we make and every step we take as a school. They are the light of this campus, and we are honored to walk beside them each day.
May this Thanksgiving bring peace, reflection, and moments that remind you of what matters most. From all of us at Kaplan High, thank you for lifting us, supporting us, and believing in our mission to serve our kids with everything we have.
Happy Thanksgiving, Pirate family.

Kaplan High School has earned the highest School Performance Score in our history, and this moment defines what it means to be Unstoppable.
Our students continue to rise through determination and steady effort. Our teachers bring consistent, high-quality instruction that pushes our students toward real growth. Our support staff and administrative team work every day to build strong systems, clear expectations, and a culture that keeps students moving forward.
This achievement is the result of a unified school community that refuses to settle and stays focused on what matters most: student success. We are proud of this progress and proud of every person who helped make it possible. 🏴☠️

Our KHS Pirate crew celebrated World Kindness Day in a BIG way! 🏴☠️💛💙
Student volunteers from the Kaplan High School Jammin' Jambalaya set sail on a mission of kindness yesterday as they visited Vermilion Healthcare Center, sponsored by KHS Student Council. Armed with sweet treats, music and dancing, handwritten cards, and heartfelt letters, our Pirates spread joy from room to room—proving that you don’t need a treasure chest to make someone’s day shine.
Residents were all smiles as our students shared conversations, laughter, and a little Pirate cheer. This voyage of kindness reminded us all that true treasure lies in giving back.
We’re so proud of these young Pirates for showing what #Unstoppable compassion looks like in our community.
