Reminders: Tomorrow, Tuesday, February 24, 2026 is the LAST DAY to donate Mardi Gras Beads for the Arc. The class who donates the MOST beads will be rewarded with an ice cream party! And while you are digging in your closets for those beads, please consider donating formal dresses, shoes, and accessories to the KHS Dream dress Drive this Saturday, February 28! We were able to gift dresses to 17 of our Miss KHS contestants, and we would love to be able to help our Lady Pirates with our upcoming Prom. Thanks in advance for your generosity in donating for these two worthy causes!

Today, we pause to honor Presidents' Day, a time to reflect on the leaders who have shaped our nation through courage, conviction, and service. Their commitment to the ideals of freedom, responsibility, and opportunity reminds us of the important role each of us plays in building a stronger future.
At Kaplan High School, we continue that legacy by preparing our students to lead with character, integrity, and purpose.

KAPLAN HIGH SCHOOL MAKES HISTORY TODAY!
Congratulations to Hunter Packard, who was elected Louisiana State Beta President at the annual State Beta Convention, and what unfolded on that stage is something our Pirate family will never forget.
With his campaign theme, “Roll with Hunter, Feel the Thunder,” Hunter didn’t just present; he commanded the arena. From the moment his skit began to the final words of his speech, the energy inside the building surged. The crowd rose with him. The noise was deafening. Tiger Stadium was a few miles away, but Hunter gave them a run for their money with his energy and passion.
In a venue packed with the best student leaders from across Louisiana, Hunter Packard rose above them all. His election to State Beta President is not just a personal achievement; it is a defining moment for Kaplan High School.
Hunter, you carried the Pirate name with strength, pride, and thunder. We could not be prouder of you and the legacy you continue to build.
Hunter is truly UNSTOPPABLE. 🏴☠️

For the safety of all students, the front of Kaplan High School is not to be used for student drop off.
This area must remain clear to ensure the safe arrival of our bus riders and the safe entry of students walking into the building. When vehicles use this space for drop off, it creates serious safety concerns and disrupts our established procedures designed to protect every student.
All student drop offs must take place in the designated drop off areas only. Your cooperation is essential in helping us maintain a safe and orderly campus environment.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our students safe. 🏴☠️

Today in Mrs. Angel Campbell's World Geography, our students experienced learning at its absolute best.
Through a fast-paced, high-energy “speed dating” lesson centered around the United Nations, students stepped into the role of global representatives. Each student unpacked the identity of a UN member nation, exploring its political structure, internal challenges, and foreign relationships. As they rotated and interacted with one another, the classroom transformed into a hub of meaningful dialogue, critical thinking, and real-world application.
What made this lesson so powerful was not just the creativity, but the conversations were thoughtful, energetic, and purposeful.
This is what unstoppable teaching looks like. When classrooms are filled with movement, relevance, and student voice, learning becomes unforgettable.
We are proud of the innovation and dedication that continues to elevate our students and prepare them to lead beyond our walls. Pirate Pride is alive and well. 🏴☠️

After all, it IS "National Cream Cheese Brownie Day" (yes, it really is)🤣
Thank you teachers for all of your hard work, and thank you to Mrs. Katelyn Bares's classes for making the best brownies we've ever tried.

It's National School Counselor Week!
This week, we proudly celebrate our unbelievable counselor, Ms. Mia Boullion. From day one, Ms. Mia has proven herself to be a true Pirate. Her work ethic is unmatched, her heart for kids is genuine, and her presence has already made our school stronger.
She is deeply loved by both students and staff, and she never hesitates to go the extra mile, whether it is supporting students, assisting teachers, or showing up for Cheer and extracurricular events. To call her the soft heartbeat of our school is still an understatement.
Ms. Mia’s rise in education has been quick, but that comes from passion, drive, and an unwavering commitment to doing what is right for kids.
We are ALL better because of her, and we are grateful to have her leading, serving, and loving our Pirate family.
We love you, Ms. Mia. 🏴☠️
