Yesterday, "Mr. Magic" Buffy Coleman gave a great presentation to the students of GHS. He showed off his amazing basketball skills, talked about his journey to where he is today, as well as motivated students to be confident and to never give up on their dreams!
Shout out to all our students who volunteered to be part of the Magic Circle passing drill, but special shout out to 6th Grader Brooke Gleason for winning (which earned her a Slap Ya Mama Louisiana Food Products t-shirt), and to 11th Grader Jarriel Palfrey for assisting Mr. Magic as he made a half-court shot to end his presentation!
GHS celebrated their school score today with music, food, and fun!
GHS received it's 2022-2023 School Score of 88.8 B!
Congratulations to Vermilion Parish Schools for their performance and their School Performance Score Ratings. Vermilion was #9 in the State and #1 in the Acadiana Area. Thank you to all students, teachers, administrators and support staffs for this outstanding accomplishment. Thank you also to all of our stakeholders for your support of our system.

From everyone at Gueydan High, Happy Veterans Day
Today, GHS hosted it's Veterans Day program. Local veterans were in attendance, and students and staff recognized veterans in their families that were unable to attend. Mr. Steve Meaux, alumnus of Gueydan High School, concluded the program by speaking to everyone in attendance about his time in the Air Force and what being a veteran means to him.
Napa Auto Parts, owned by Blaine Hebert, recently donated work gloves to the GHS Ag department. Thanks so much for supporting our school, it is greatly appreciated!
Our Junior Beta Club will be doing a bake sale during lunch at school next week to sell to students so that we can raise money for various items to be used at State Convention in February. Attached is a schedule of when each Junior Beta member is asked to bring their items, as well as more details:
