What is your favorite part of your job?
I love watching students grow and be able to do something that they felt
at the beginning of the year  they wouldn't be able to do. I also love the relationships I am able to form with students. I am often able to work with many of them for multiple years  and watch them grow which  is awesome!

How many years have you been working at Kaplan High?
Sixteen Years!

What is your favorite thing to do outside of school?
Since the beginning of the pandemic, I’ve just really enjoyed staying home! 
But I enjoy going to the movies,  watching local theatre, and watching softball games.

What is something people would never guess about you? 
Most people seem to know me as fairly outgoing and talkative, but In certain social situations I can be very quiet and almost shy. 

What inspired you to become a teacher?
The wonderful teachers I’ve had in the past. I’ve had some remarkable ones! Some are still around, others are not , but all definitely left an impact.    

Did you graduate from Kaplan high school? 
I did! Class of 95! Go Pirates!

What is your favorite TV show?
I love so many! I love Friends and The Big Bang Theory. 
My favorite thing I’ve watched recently would be Wanda Vision!

9th-12th grade;

If you had to pick another subject to teach, what would it be?
I’ve always enjoyed World Geography! I love just randomly looking at maps and learning about new places.

What is your dream vacation?
I’ve been fortunate enough to go on TWO bucket list trips! Hawaii and Greece! 
 I would love to visit the East…Japan etc.

What are your favorite hobbies?
 I love to read. I love TV and Movies.
Currently, I’m watching all of the Marvel movies and TV shows in timeline order and that has been tons of fun!

What do you love about teaching at KHS?
Kaplan High is home. I love being able to teach and live in our community. 

I love that I am fortunate enough to teach with EIGHT former students. I love that teachers at KHS don’t mind collaboration. I also love  that the staff will pitch in and help in times of need. We have a top notch staff at KHS.

Are you involved in any extracurricular clubs or sports at KHS?
I am the coach and sponsor of our Speech and Drama team. I also direct two theatre productions (Our Mystery and Spring Musical.)
