Mrs. Ashley Johnston's class was awarded the first ever GOLDEN Z for Kindergarten! They had 80% growth in Zearn lessons this week. Keep Zearning!

This week (April 3-7, 2023) is National Assistant Principal’s Week! We wanted to thank Mrs. Dawn for all that she does for us at EPE! We couldn’t do it without you! 🐾❤️


Today, Ms. Mollie’s Kindergarten class let their butterflies go free in the school garden! The students have been watching their butterflies grow the past few weeks and enjoyed learning about the life cycle of a butterfly.

Mrs. Hailey’s class wrapped up their insect study by releasing butterflies into our school garden. We learned about metamorphosis as we observed the caterpillars changing into chrysalises then into butterflies.

EPE teachers Synergizing on a Saturday!


As part of Read Across America Week, Ms. Tiffany, our Librarian hosted a Book Bingo. These students were chosen in a drawing of completed Bingo Cards to win their own book.




Today Mrs. Bailey’s Grandmother, Timala Melancon, with Wright Honey came to teach 2nd graders about honey bees! 2nd grade learned all about honey bees, and how honey and beeswax wax is harvested. They got to see pure beeswax wax candles, and even tasted the local honey!🐝🐝

Today, in Library, Ms. Ellie’s class read How to Capture a Leprechaun, took the AR Quiz, then built their own unique leprechaun traps.


Eaton Park Elementary Principal, Ms. Angela Godwin, signs proclamation declaring March 2023 as Youth Art Month at Eaton Park Elementary. Art teachers, Tammy Broussard and Nealy Atkins were present to accept the proclamation. Students at Eaton Park are very fortunate to have multiple opportunities to create and experience art.



EPE students are exploring the way ART makes them feel as they consider the importance of taking time to be able to pause for creativity during Youth Art Month.
